Valeria Zorina

As soloist and chamber musician, Valeria Zorina has performed at multiple international festivals, such as the Cardiff Festival (UK), Schwetzinger Festspiele, Hambacher Musikfest (Germany), the Evian Rostropovich Festival, Royaumont Festival (France),  ANTIDOGMA Torino (Italy),as well as in numerous prestigious Concert Halls – Queen Elizabeth Hall (London), the Tempelliaukion Hall (Helsinki), Liederhalle (Stuttgart), Alte Aula (Heidelberg), Auditorio Nacional Madrid (Spain).

The young moldavian violinist has studied with and received high praise from the leading personalities of our days such as David Takeno, Joseph Rissin, Sir Yehudi Menuhin and ensembles like the  Alban Berg Quartett and the Tokyo String Quartet.

In the course of her career, Valeria has been awarded a number of prizes, including the First prize at the National Young Artists’ Competition (USSR), Winner of the GSMD String Prize (London), First prize at the Chamber Music Competition of the Kulturfonds Baden (Germany), First prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Karlsruhe (Germany), Primo Premio Assolutto of the Città di Padova International Music Competition (Italy), Premio “Luoghi di confine” all’eccellenza and Premio “Artists in residence” at the International Gaetano Zinetti Competition (Italy) and the First prize at the International Competition Marco Fiorindo (Italy).

Valeria is continuously taking part in radio broadcasts:  SWR2, Bavarian Radio, Radio Berlin-Brandenburg, WDR and has received the best critic from the german classical music magazine Klassik Heute for her second CD release “Present” with the OEHMS Classics.

Her constant collaboration with prestigious orchestras such as RAI Torino (Italy), la Orquesta della Radiotelevisione della Svizzera Italiana  Lugano (Switzerland), Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heibronn (Germany), Haydn Orchester of Bolzano & Trento (Italy) and her pedagogical experience at the Stuttgart Music School (Germany), International Music School of Prince of Asturias Foundation (Spain), Masterclasses at the Kharkiv University of Arts (Ucraine) and the collaboration with the Madrid Youth Orchestra form another big part of her artistic activity.

In 2011 for her musical achievements Valeria has been awarded the Honore Membership of the Rotary International and has been invited as the Honore Member of the Jury at the Città di Padova International Music Competition (Italy).

Since 2015 Valeria Zorina has a Professorship for Postgraduate and Master Studies at the CSKG in Madrid.
