Dr. Ilonka L. Rus, Transylvanian-born pianist, has appeared as soloist and collaborative artist across the United States, Europe, South America, and Mexico, with career highlights including performances at Carnegie Hall in New York and Atheneum Hall in Bucharest.
She is Professor of Piano and Director of Keyboard Studies at Sam Houston State University and currently serves as President of the World Piano Teachers Association – Texas Chapter.
She has been invited to perform and teach at leading international festivals and conferences in Spain, Poland, Colombia, Italy, Serbia, Romania, Peru, and Mexico.
Recent engagements include performances and masterclasses at the College Music Society International Conference in Bogotá and Medellín, Colombia, the Festival Internacional de Música “Ciudad de Ávila” in Spain, and the EuroArts Academy in Poland.
Her teaching has been recognized with the TMTA Outstanding Collegiate Teacher Award (2024) and the Certificate of Excellence Teaching Award from WPTA Finland (2025).
